I'm not a fan of Hilary Duff, but I don't find her really cringe-inducing either. However, I did like that in this movie. The entire movie is super boring and Duff portrays her character like an empty-headed dumbass that I couldn't do anything with it. It could have been a funny story in itself. Of those rich girls who have to save themselves in the "real" world and work for a living. But the emptiness of the characters made it super, super bland. Not fun !!

Thirteen in a dozen. Girls film that hardly seems to have put any effort into it. All the clichés in a row, an illogical and uninteresting story, a few half life lessons, well-known girl actress in it and you're done. The stupidity of the filthy rich girls occasionally yields some blandly funny moments, but the story itself is very little. The whole problem was solved very quickly. For example, Hillary Duff still has to dress in her pajama dress the first day after her decline into poverty, after that it takes no effort at all for the two sisters to dress and make up. In the end, everything turns out all right, and although the girls both hooked up with a not-wealthy boyfriend, they're hardly less materialistic than before. Not a movie I expected much from, but nevertheless Material Girls was disappointing.

Ah.

A lot of giggles, some tears, a lot of sentimental dialogue and a course that you can effortlessly stick to countless similar films and get exactly the same film. Material Girls is a movie I'll soon forget, not necessarily because I want to, but because it just does so little.

I can't say I really thought it was bad. The acting is nice, the environment is pretty shiny and the course is safe but appropriate. It's a very typical film that is just too good. The emotion hardly catches on, so in that area you have little to really go along with. They are also not my favorite characters that are followed here, so the fun ends quickly.

I don't need to say much more about it. You can watch it for quick entertainment, but I'm afraid that a year after seeing this movie, no one can explain exactly what it was about. So I am one of them, and it is precisely because this film plays the cards so very safe that it lands on the exact number I usually give to films that leave my mind almost instantly.
