Annabelle 'Little Annie' Rooney (Mary Pickford) lives in a slum where fighting and shooting are the order of the day. When her father, Police Officer Timothy Rooney (Walter James), is shot, Joe Kelly (William Haines), whom Annie is secretly in love with, is blamed. Annie's brother Tim believes this accusation and avenges his father by shooting Kelly. As soon as Annie hears this, she rushes to the hospital to give a life-saving blood transfusion, but it is even questionable whether that will even help.
