Masquerade plot

Opportunist Tim has an affair with his trading partner's wife until he meets wealthy widow Olivia Lawrence. She is tyrannized by her stepfather and Olivia kills him in a violent argument. The police are convinced that she acted out of emergency and Olivia marries Tim. She gets even further entangled in a murder plot.
