Heavily redundant part, which actually adds nothing (new). It is a weak, boring and above all not exciting thriller. The story is far-fetched and it's really just another repetition. Is Cathrine Tramell a murderess or not?

Sharon Stone acts nicely, but doesn't add anything. We have seen enough of her (standard) temptations in the first part. It's all a bit too forced for me. As good as the first part was, this one is just as bad. 2 *

The first part may not have been a very good movie but it had flair, style, good cast and exciting scenes. A sequel is really asking for trouble, especially if those elements are missing. Stone looks a little creepy (especially naked) and Morrissey is no Douglas. A bigger problem is the script, which is just weak and has to be held up by twists. The dialogues are also mediocre and the climax may be surprising, but after so many twists especially bad.

Many comments and criticisms make no sense:
-David Moryssey (who starred in the Walking Dead) plays great. Yes, he is British, but the emotions are subtly very visible.
-Stone plays well too. She looks quite different, especially around the eyes and has clearly had a facelift. But still nice and horny and I had no problem with her slightly bigger tits. And the way she sits with her legs apart in that chair... lovely.
-The story is not a copy of part 1. At the very least, there are some interesting twists in it.
The dialogues aren't nearly as vulgar as claimed.

All in all, it has a completely different style, it's a bit more British (as is the setting) and it doesn't have the hectic, lightning-fast style that Verhoeven used in part 1. But it's not boring. There is, of course, a lot to note.

I would have liked to have seen a lot more of both top actor Hugh Dancy (who became a star through Hannibal) and the thoroughly British Charlotte Rampling (who had a fine role in Dexter, among others).

There is too much smoking, such that it really becomes a disturbing manner.

The ending is not satisfying enough, the twist went a bit too far emotionally: that Glass shot that cop so quickly was very wild.

My criticism is that part 1 is misinterpreted. In that movie, Douglas was eventually (presumably) killed by Stone while Tripplehorn was already dead. So they could never have blamed them for the death of Douglas, while in this part it is pretended that the case was closed, completely illogical.
