Ein Sommer, Den Man Nie Vergißt plot

Shortly before his trip to America, student Ernst Leuchtenthal falls in love with kindergarten teacher Marianne. He promises to write, but Marianne does not receive any letters because her jealous aunt withholds them. Disappointed, she accepts the advances of a widower. When the aunt learns that Marianne is pregnant with Ernst, she realizes the injustice she has done to her niece.
