A Escondidas plot
Rafa and Ibra are both stars on their water polo team, but that's where the similarity between the two teenagers ends. Rafa leads the everyday life of a fifteen-year-old teenager in a deprived area of Bilbao. Ibra is an illegal Moroccan who lives from day to day and tries to survive with petty crime. When by chance their paths cross, the two boys slowly pull towards each other.

Bit of a dull movie. Everything remains flat, also due to the large amount of subjects and themes that are discussed, so that nothing was really well developed. The pace is also just too slow and as a viewer you don't go along, which makes it a bit boring and uninteresting. In addition, many images lack real expressiveness. Many shots have backgrounds out of focus, while the environments can be so beautiful and paint a certain picture of a certain environment. In the last scene, when shots come of a quiet Bilbao, suddenly there is. Otherwise well acted, especially by the young Alcarazu who says a lot with his looks. The film does get my sympathy, but not a really high mark. 2.5*.

Great movie! The youth acted well. Well done. Coincidentally we have been on holiday in and around Bilbao and it is nice to recognize some environments. The story isn't boring and we didn't find the movie slow either. Well worth it. This film would do well to show in schools. No stereotypical gay queer stuff!

The film deals with various themes such as friendship, romance, homosexuality, racism and illegality. Nothing new in principle, but effective at certain times. This is based on the good acting performances. Still, I completely agree with the above review of mjk87. Also for me the movie started slow, and it only got better towards the end. Still, it is not a bad film, but it looks reasonably entertaining.
