La Promesa plot

The marriage of Gregoria and Roberto has lost all luster. An insensitive, aggressive husband. No children in the house and an irrational and sickly religious devotion. Gregoria's life is no fun. A chance encounter with a man who has just escaped death brings salvation. His hope-filled words give her the courage to change her life. After a violent confrontation with her husband, Gregoria flees to the north of Spain. She now calls herself Celia and finds work as a nanny for the only son of a wealthy family. Rumors about the house and unexplained apparitions fueled her religious obsession and paranoia.
