Archer finds out that Troy has a bomb hidden somewhere and only Troy and his brother (who is in prison) know where. Archer has some doctors swap his face for Troy's so he can infiltrate the prison and get the info from Troy's brother. Meanwhile, the real Troy wakes up from his coma and takes over Archer's life with the face of Archer. My thousandth vote goes to the typical 90s movie face/off. And the title for a movie has never been more appropriate. Faces go up and down and the film is packed with face offs between Cage and Travolta.

Normally I'm not a big fan of either guy, but they seem to have been written for this movie and they looked like they had a lot of fun with it. The film is full of good old-fashioned action and is nicely exaggerated, but in combination with the zeitgeist, everything falls into place in this film.

Once fished out of a second-hand couch and it was a pinball. I had to flip the DVD half way through. Yes kids, Grandpa tells you that back in the day, when netflix was still an online video store that distributed DVDs.

I think a lot of people know that action movies are not necessarily my favorite movies. But in that corner I think Hard Boiled is an outlier. This one isn't nearly as fun. And that's not only because the action is a bit less, but mainly because there is too much story around it and that story is quite silly to say the least. The guys who got to wear this big movie were Cage (who's good) and Travoilta (who doesn't make much of it, but he's not really a good actor either (he takes the film more seriously and that doesn't work for me)), two actors who both drove their cart in the shit in such a way that they are no longer asked for this kind of stuff. Cage mainly for the money, Travolta mainly for Scientology. The film should have taken its nonsense story a lot less seriously or approached it a lot more believable and serious. The structure of the film makes you live from action scene to action scene and everything in between is boring and bland filler. Woo has never been able to do anything with a dramatic story, so those scenes don't go so well. It's pretty good to watch, but Woo Kan is much better, probably worse, but I haven't seen those films and I don't really intend to.

Rewatched today after 4 years, it remains a fantastic film with 2 top actors Nicolas Cage and JohnTravolta!

This movie is in my top 5 best movies of all time along with Con Air.

Very nicely made with 2 different faces, and the story is also very good, 1 and all action and very spectacular!

The ending is great too!

5 stars because it is and remains a masterpiece!
