A Lot like Love plot

"There's nothing better than a great romance... to ruin a perfectly good friendship."

Mediocre rom-com that tells a love story that spreads out over a number of years. The beginning of the film, with the meeting and the nice dialogues is definitely worth watching. But at some point it all gets a bit tedious. Of course, the outcome can already be predicted from the first minute. Amanda Peet does put down a nice role, and partly because of her this film only gets 3.0 stars.

Pretty nice rom-com about a special kind of on-again, off-again relationship. But I always have some issues with Ashton Kutcher and that's why I like the comparable Serendipity (2001) a lot more.

A light-hearted romantic comedy without nonsense.

This film does not have forced humor, and remains a pleasure to watch. The chemistry and dialogue between Amanda Peet and Ashton Kutcher works fine. The late Birdie M. Hale has a brief cameo that refers with a wink to Coming to America (1988). She was also briefly seen in similar circumstances.

The story gradually becomes quite predictable, but nevertheless remains enjoyable. Thanks in part to good acting and a beautiful soundtrack. The film won 1 award, and was nominated 3 times at the Teen Choice Awards 2005.

3.0 *
