Durbuy at the beginning of the summer holidays. The classic battle for tourists has begun among the middle class. The hotel keeper of the Esplanada usually wins. But this year, Madame La Radoux, owner of a chip shop, is determined to win. She starts a smear campaign.

A farce with Shakespearean proportions. In Durbuy, the smallest city in Belgium, a hospitality war is taking place between Annie Girardot's tavern and Ann Petersen's chip shop while their son and daughter behave like Romeo and Juliet. Nothing pretentious but fun to watch in the hospitality world and all the intrigues that come with it. It is not always very realistic - the shooting where not even the police are involved - but hey, it is a comedy.

The best thing about the film is first of all the location. If you want to see Durbuy in all its innocence in the 70s, long before it was discovered by project developers, this is the film. Furthermore, I am charmed by the soundtrack by Pieter Verlinden and for me reason to watch it since I own the vinyl of it. And then there is the presence of the two actresses mentioned who top a very nice cast.
