Not very convincing. If the first part is long-winded, except for the annoying, the ending actually brings nothing. Was the stakes now only love and romance? Top performers like Barbara Stanwyck and James Mason can manage to some extent, but overall it remains mediocre.

Jessie and Brandon are having marital problems, he has cheated in the past and that still bothers her, especially when it turns out that the lady in question (excellently played by Ava Gardner) suddenly shows up again and tries to seduce Brandon again, and not without success. , even though he tries to resist it .

There is a murder plot in between, fortunately it takes only a little time to arrive at a solid ending and conclusion.
Great drama with soap elements in it, the cast is very strong, Stanwyck, Mason, Heflin all do very well, but the show is stolen a bit by Gardner's character, Isabel Lorrison is the most impressive femme fatale (maybe after Rita Hayworth's Gilda ) I have ever seen .
