Julie, Chevalier de Maupin plot
In 1659, the opera singer Agnès Dormes attends a black mass not far from Versailles. She can prevent a baby from being sacrificed and flees with the child. Twenty years later, the child has become a beautiful young woman, Julie de Maupin. One day, when Julie returns home, she is assaulted by two horsemen who try to kill her. She is just rescued by her stepfather Gaston. He pays for his intervention with his life. Julie goes looking for Agnès.
