Goede Man, Lieve Zoon plot

The village of Ahatovici is located in the hills around Sarajevo. In 1992, about 80 percent of all men in the village were murdered. Each and every one of them has been special to their families and to the community in which they lived, worked and loved. Good Man, Dear Son is the little big story behind this forgotten tragedy. The murdered men are brought to life through the stories of their wives, daughters and surviving sons and through the few surviving photographs and artifacts. It is precisely through those small things that the film wants to tell something big. It's about the memories - beautiful, melancholy and sad - that are stuck to a recovered watch, an apple tree, a masonry tool or a T-shirt. Little by little, it is those memories that project the image of a disrupted community on a hill in Bosnia.
