Deus e o Diabo na Terra do Sol plot
The mercenary Antonio das Mortes fights against the Cangaceiros, members of the roaming gangs in the 1920s and 1930s in northeastern Brazil. These Cangaceiros fight against the oppression of the Nordestinos by the Coroneis. Manuel works at a ranch and has to flee with his wife Rosa after he kills his boss. They join the gang of Corisco, a Cangaceiro and Antonio's nemesis.
