Slaughter High (1986)

Talk dirty, Frank! Uuuhhh..fuck, tits...screw.

Sharp low-budget slasher, completely over the top (especially that ending...) and played with ridiculously funny wit. An enthusiastic bunch that embraces all the clichés and that's it. Exactly what I'm looking for, really, because virtually everything within this subgenre during this period shares the same characteristics... so why change anything? Now, the original concepts are cool (April Fool's Day, for example), but a simple geek-revenge movie is at least as much fun.

A lot of attention went into the way the kills take place, and fortunately, the effects do justice to that creativity. Cool mask, atmospheric location... well, a perfect little slasher. 4 solid stars.

A decent film in which a group of ex-students travel to their old school for a reunion. A standard setup for this predictable slasher. The kills are original enough (however, the gore could have been a bit more at times). The cast is visibly having fun, which benefits the whole thing. Fairly dumb in many ways, and perhaps entertaining precisely because of that.

The opening bully scene is really over the top, with a nerd whose nerdiness is, shall we say, very childish and is exaggerated.

Furthermore, the kill scenes are occasionally the only thing worth watching, because the acting and fleeing from the killer are too laughable not exciting.
