Effective! Øvredal knows how to impress, especially during the first half. There is a lot of detail in the soundtrack; there is always something ticking somewhere. That makes for a strong, mysterious opening. Location is of course top notch. The wooden walls in the halls, the chilly autopsy room and playing in the background the deteriorating situation outside ( is somewhat reminiscent of Pontypool (2008) , also very strongly told). It makes for clammy hands. However, he chooses the easy route for the second half. It's a shame that the music takes over, where he used to let the location do its job so well. Ultimately, it is mainly the autopsy scenes that will stick best; pure craftsmanship! Occasionally leans towards the 4* -- is quality-wise very solid--, but just lacks that special edge towards the end. Still one of the best genre films of the year.

Everything Don't Breathe claims namely most terrifying movie of the year,,, as far as I'm concerned, that goes entirely to this film.
Although the latter is also very strong .

It's a rock solid horror movie.
The scares work. It gives you an uncanny feeling.
And it creates an arc of tension that he won't let go.

Scary, supernatural, witchy and extremely strong.
One of the best horror movies 2016 had to offer.

thick enough.
