Available in Belgium on Netflix. It's an Italian talkie, so besides the dialogue (which flies back and forth), the sets and the way it's portrayed are quite flamboyant. Plenty of music too, but not always a bonus. The picture quality is excellent, and in the more tender moments between the two leads, Anonimo Veneziano is absolutely captivating.

A decent film in which a man meets his wife after several years of separation. The dialogue and the relationship between the two main characters only moderately captivated me. But the memories evoked give the film a pleasant, nostalgic tone (the beautiful music certainly contributes to this). There's also plenty of beautiful footage of Venice.

A truly beautiful film with an autumnal (a bit chilly and wet after the rain) Venice as a stunning backdrop, still devoid of tourists. Simply a film about two real people with real feelings; in some ways, it reminded me strongly of Before Sunrise. It may be a little less vibrant than that other film, but it does manage to convey a pleasant melancholy. The acting is good, although I found Musante a bit too flat, but Bolkan was especially fantastic. 4.0*.
