Mumbling reporter Robert Kittredge has been fired after screwing up his last assignment. His career is not going so well: his girlfriend Chris is more than tired of waiting for their marriage. When he gets a golden tip about Nazi spies at work in Washington DC, he convinces Chris to help him with the story so he can get his job back.
