I also like those Francesco Rosi films (although they are almost never perfect), and at the same time I can imagine that a lot of people probably can't do anything with them.
Because it is actually a very specific genre. Usually typical 1970s Italian political problems and situations. The old left vs right also comes to the fore in this story about how to survive as a State-owned company in the world of (American) multinationals that in fact determine the entire world.
In addition, as is often the case, a criminal layer comes into play with, in this case, no mafia, but secret services and shadowy parties that make such popular men a head smaller.
Finally, Volonté is great as usual.
