A bit of a shame, all those sequels. Here even Dracula, Wolfman AND Frankenstein's monster are brought out to score. Story is not exciting at all and acting is very mediocre. Still, the old-fashioned horror atmosphere remains nice.

2.0*

A strange horror film where the title actually stands out. Dracula is present but not too much. The Wolfman and Frankenstein's monster are also present. However, all three monsters only have small supporting roles, because all three characters appear only rarely in the story.
The story itself I found mediocre, even a bit strange. Fortunately it is quite atmospheric now and then and contains a number of beautiful sets. The castle with the rocks around it is very beautiful, and the cave where Frankenstein's monster lies is also a beautiful location. The escape of Dr. Edelmann after the murder of Siegfried is spectacular. I found the ending very weak in which Frankenstein's monster went up in flames again. A disappointment.

Not much better than Kenton's 'House of Frankenstein', where he attempted something similar, but with a slightly more Frankenstein-centric focus.
John Carradine comes out a little better this time as Dracula, but he still doesn't really deliver a top performance. In my opinion he is still surpassed by the other Universal actors Bela Lugosi and Lon Chaney.
Onslow Stevens plays a reasonable double role as Edlemann, but Lon Chaney again takes home the trophy for 'best role', because even in a mediocre film like this he puts his best foot forward as the tormented Talbot/Wolf Man.
Combining all those different horror figures just doesn't seem to work well, Dracula comes back and forth a bit fleetingly and the hunchback sister Nina gets very little attention. In addition, the Frankenstein's monster also adds little value and the ending with him is a bit disappointing.
The assassination of Siegfried and its aftermath is the highlight of the film. Funny how the whole village is rallied after the attack.
This time the ending also feels a bit rushed and in my opinion Kenton could have put a bit more time into it. He probably didn't mind though.
After this third Kenton Universal I can say that I am not a fan of his contributions. They are all a bit 'too much of a good thing' if you ask me.
