The entire summer camp is in danger of being destroyed by an onrushing mass of debris from outer space! A crazy hormone-driven group of camp counselors tries to save this last day. A very mediocre comedy, this film that revolves around a camp. The story where it becomes clear that debris is coming from space is ridiculous at first, but if you think it can't get any worse, you'll be a bit disappointed. The adolescents are downright boring characters, the space connoisseur with his love interest is also very weak, and the film has humor that is almost never fun and especially very bland. 'Come to the picnic table in 10 seconds... 2 steps further the table appears and then also say 'thanks for coming', no... the humor is anything but fun. Okay, to be honest, I thought it was funny that a kid was thrown out of that moving van, but unfortunately I couldn't laugh more than that one moment.

Poor coming of age movie. Such a summer film with different characters and the necessary teenage problems can work well (Dazed and Confused, American Graffiti, Adventureland), but Wet Hot American Summer is especially very boring. Nice if you can manage that, but director David Wain succeeds. The actors are not very good, but they have to make do with a bad script and poorly developed characters. The lazy summer atmosphere is a small plus.
