Finally seen it too. A nice fresh film with a short playing time and I actually prefer that to a film that has to last three hours or more. It is low budget, yet it looks stylish shot in black and white. Too bad is only the 4:3 image format. After all, the soundtrack that is mainly filled with ambient is also welcome.

Despite the low budget, the acting is also decent. The main character sounded a bit like Alan Rickman. Also in this Nolan there is a jump in chronology, but it is nice to follow where we are at each moment in the story. That story reminded me most of The Dark Room of Damokles by WF Hermans, one of my favorite books. Because is it possible that Cobb only exists in his fantasy, that it is an alter ego? I certainly find that ambiguity interesting and in that respect it can't hurt to watch the film again to see how all the twists fit together. The movie won't last that long.

In short, a strong debut from Nolan. 4*.

Strong debut from Nolan with a similar style to Memento. Despite the many time jumps, I was able to follow the story quite well. Amazing that Nolan already managed to intrigue with an extremely low budget.
