Henry Letham (Ryan Gosling), a young man who escapes alive from a car accident, is taken in by psychiatrist Sam Foster (Ewan McGregor). His trauma begins as a kind of paranoia that allows him to predict things, such as his own death. Sam's friend Lila Culpepper (Naomi Watts), who also attempted suicide, and Sam wants to avoid Letham's suicide at all costs. But does Henry want to be helped?

A film with highs and lows. Still, the positives dominate. Long outdated, but quite an atmospheric and exciting thriller. By the way, the audiovisual is fine. But quite unbelievable. skinny 7.

Skillfully made film by Marc Foster. Stay is a real 'mindfuck', but the great strength of the film is that everything is easy to follow. And that fortunately we have smart people who have completely dissected the film and picked up every detail. Reading and listening to how other people have experienced the film is almost more fun than watching it.
Audiovisually, Stay is beautifully designed, and the direction and camera work provide a sometimes hallucinatory film experience. Appropriate. McGregor and Watts are strong, but Gosling stands out in a positive way. When you see and hear how much work it has been to get all the details right, you can only compliment the makers for that.

Mediocre.
In the meantime somewhat dated. Marc Forster's visual flair seemed in vogue at the time. It gives the film some attention, but it is not great cinema either. In terms of content it seems to be a kind of paranoia thriller, although it sometimes remains a mystery which way it actually wants to go. Turns out to be a tragic turn of events . Thanks in part to a well-acting Ryan Gosling, the film is not too bad, but I don't think this combo is really successful.
