Rodrigo leads a carefree life at the court of Castile. As a close friend of Crown Prince Sancho, the future king, his future looks bright. But when the old King Fernando dies and Crown Prince Sancho is also murdered, Rodrigo's world collapses. After all, Alfonso, Sancho's brother, becomes king and Rodrigo is banished from Castile.
