The Giant Claw plot
"Flying beast out of prehistoric skies!"
New York is suddenly attacked by a huge bird of prey that effortlessly knocks over buildings and lifts people and cars from the streets. Panic sets in and the US government calls on the military to take out "The Claw".

King Kong... Godzilla... is child's play compared to this indestructible Pino from outer space. He loves planes, trains, and tasty human snacks. What an incredibly fantastic head this beast has!
Admittedly, the humor level is (unintentionally) higher than the horror level, and of course we don't want all the military personnel and scientists busily discussing this emergency situation, but the bird itself is an unforgettable horror monster.

Viewed via YouTube, in HD picture quality.
I agree with some reviewers here that the "monster" looks hilariously bad.
Still, I was not bored during the viewing.
To me the film didn't feel too long either.
The cast makes it all bearable.
He didn't seem to act reluctantly.
I thought the search for the origin of the animal and a way to destroy it was not that bad.
The actors and actress deliver it convincingly enough.
Too bad the special effects department let them down.
Mara Corday was considered one of the most beautiful Hollywood actresses at the time (in the fifties) (at least in the top 5 in my opinion) and acquired cult figure status.
Acting also didn't go badly for her.
Especially seen in westerns.
Her presence in this film actually gave me the push to go see it.
If the special effects had been better, it would have received a higher rating.
Now it remains at 2.5*
I don't need to have a DVD/Blu-ray in my collection.

Well the special effects are not the highlight of the film to say the least, but for the rest the film is actually not that bad, the dialogues are reasonable, Mara Corday is quite pleasant to watch and the players do their best in terms of acting.
