Nice film, the punch line of which presents itself to the attentive viewer long in advance. The only wait is for the moment when the penny drops for Catherine (Fanny Ardant).

I normally don't like remakes, but in this case I have to make an exception for Chloe, because I find it a lot more exciting.

I also disagree with the exaggerated compliments to Emmanuelle Béart. Admittedly, she still looks good, but the dazzling, fresh-faced girl who played the stars of heaven in Manon des Sources is clearly subject to some 'wear and tear'. No shame, by the way, because there are about 17 years in between.

Ah, finally another French film the way I like French films. About relationships and cheating. How French do you want it? A beautiful story that is also different than you would think. Although I saw the end coming from afar. But that doesn't bother me. It all adds up. The atmosphere is classic. And once again the acting is fantastic. The three main characters are all great. Really good actors don't have to say anything. The expression on their face and how they move around each other are sufficient. There are several great examples of such scenes in this film. I once again enjoyed an old-fashioned French film.

I don't know why, after 20 years - and with commentary - Arte is once again dusting off this film.

The history is "special" but it is not very convincing.

Perhaps it was to see Fanny Ardant, Gérard Depardieu and Emmanuelle Béart at work in a younger version again. Ok, as far as I'm concerned, because without those three it would have been a Nathalieke of nothing.
