"He's out there…"

Blue Thunder is a specially developed helicopter. It is used for police work, but is armed and designed to track objects with precision. The maker soon discovers that they are planning much more with the helicopter.

My first steps on this cool movie site. Blue Thunder isn't exactly number 1 on my wish list, but couldn't wait to respond. Leading actor Scheider is one of my favorite actors and I was carried away by the story when this action film was released. may have been more than 25 years ago. The actress, her name unknown to me, who played the part of Murphy's ex-girlfriend, got on my nerves at times, but that shouldn't spoil the fun. Blue Thunder is already somewhere in my favorite top 50.

Mediocre film about a helicopter pilot for the police who is allowed to test a new, modern aircraft. The story starts a bit messy and gradually the credibility is sometimes hard to find. Especially towards the end it gets spectacular with some great action scenes with the helicopters. But they fail to save the film.

Oh well, sometimes things go wrong with these kinds of movies. The most annoying thing here was those flashbacks of Vietnam. Yes, our hero has a scratch and that includes a sworn enemy. A story that won't wake anyone up with things that are also used in countless other films (when that 360° loop comes up, etc.), but you don't put something like that up because of intrigue and the like. I assume. Not me in any case.

Action and it has enough as the film progresses. A scene like that of the Blue Thunder testing is of course worth its weight in gold. Terribly rude. Excessive firepower, it's an understatement. Much of the film is set at night, always good for a specific vibe, the finale is spectacular and before that it has some fun and nice characters walking around to get you there. A grunting Warren Oates, what more could you want.

Nice movie, the story was surprising, against a background of the approaching 1984 Olympics and what the government planned to do in the time of riot. Remember Reagan was president, surpassed in law only by Trump. Then it is a pity that this fact is not further elaborated and the film therefore remains politically correct. Scheider was perfect for this role, with his narrow sensitive face, you immediately believed he had a Vietnam trauma, but also that he was not someone to be led by that. Oates plays great again as usual. But McDowell is smirking, what an annoyance to see him in this role.

The action is fine, completely new for the time and well portrayed. Too bad about the story that it is not well developed and especially about the role of McDowell, now the film is stuck at a 3.

Thrown in because I'd never seen it before, and remembered a discussion from back in the day, whether you were for Airwolf or for Blue Thunder. And as a big fan of Airwolf and Stringfellow Hawke in the past, this had to be done.

As far as I'm concerned, it can be deduced from the film that it was a spectacle and probably a blockbuster in '83. Some parts of the film still stand, the helicopter looks like a prototype of the Tigre or Apache, Scheider makes some of it in a fairly typical slightly clouded role for him and certain action still looks good, so do the stunts with the helicopters. But there are also those typical 80s and 90s geniuses, like that stupid crack in the garage every time, pulling a gun quickly, the music sometimes tends to be wrong and all in all the whole phenomenon is [ spoiler] of the government plot a bit too exaggerated for me. Just like the fact that one is going to fight dogfights over the city without looking at the consequences of civilians.
And McDowell is occasionally on the brink of being a very exaggerated bad guy who eats the weirdest things , but yes, that's something that the man can do very well, as witness Bopha! and A Clockwork Orange.

Blue Thunder, not fantastic, but nice nostalgic entertainment for once and I still maintain that my helicopter youth sentiment Airwolf wins this dogfight.

An action film that is cohesive of the clichés and is extremely outdated in terms of technology. But still with the necessary speed and action, so that it has become a pleasant action film. In the lead role we see Roy Scheider who partly played this film so that he did not have to participate in Jaws 3D. And Malcolm McDowell who has a fear of flying. So great duo.

The helicopter is actually 1 large drone. The technology that they would put in there today can be found in a helicopter called Blue Thunder. There were plans for a remake with drones. Some time is invested in showing that technology. Fortunately, it still has its charm with the necessary humor. But there you see that it is an old movie, and you have to wait for the real action.

The film itself is okay. The chase made me think of 9/11 when the F-16s want to shoot down the helicopter and accidentally send their missile towards an apartment building. Other times. Although the idea of the cameras, computers and eavesdropping is reality these days.
