"An act of love, or an act of murder?"
A millionaire is found dead in bed. It turns out he died of a heart attack. When cocaine is found in his body, and the estate to his girlfriend Rebecca Carlson (Madonna) turns out to be eight million dollars, she is arrested on suspicion of murder. The weapon: her body. The lawyer Frank Dulaney (Willem Dafoe) defends her and soon a violent sexual relationship develops between the two.

More or less a kind of Basic Instinct but with Madonna instead of Sharon Stone. There is also more sex and nudity in it. Personally, I don't mind that and certainly not when it comes to Madonna. The story doesn't say much and is really only worth looking at thanks to the nakedness. The cast for this film is quite impressive because in addition to the two protagonists Madonna (played quite nicely for her) and Willem Dafoe, Julianne Moore, Jürgen Prochnow and Anne Archer also played in it as fairly well-known people. It is therefore quite sad that they have not been able to make more of this film than a bland erotic thriller.

Not a great movie but certainly not as bad as is often suggested. The film has to rely mainly on the strong cast that also does a pretty good job. Yes, even Madonna plays quite well here and the many erotic scenes are also convincing.
The only thing that gives me a bit of a stomachache is the scenario but to be honest I was fascinated watching and I was never bored for a moment.
