I saw this movie for the first time a long time ago but have to confess that I couldn't remember much about it. This was only pleasant, so it remained fairly unpredictable. Along Came a Spider is therefore a great thriller and a good film adaptation, but not that surprising.

Freeman is again a good detective, he portrays the role of Alex Cross well and always radiates a kind of calm. The rest of the cast does a great job as well. I think I'm one of the few who didn't struggle with all the plot twists and events, and I didn't think it made it any less realistic.

I do agree that Morgan is the carrier of the film. It would be a lot less without him.

Cheers Freeman!

Second film in the Alex Cross series. I thought it was on a par with the first film (Kiss the Girls (1997)). Great atmosphere with some surprising twists. The unbelievable things were a bit less, but I'm over that now. Unfortunately, towards the end of the film, I thought the lady in the lead role was getting worse and worse. Freeman was top notch again and the bad guy from the boat was pretty good too. On to the third and last in this series.....

I think this is an average movie. Good story, just not very well developed. I know this is a 2001 movie, but I thought the special effects in the opening scene were sad.

Furthermore, I found most of the actors on Morgan Freeman after fairly mediocre acting. Freeman has lifted the film in my opinion with his good acting.

This was a nice story with a simple film adaptation. Megan, the girl who was so brave. Totally unbelievable and at no point did I feel like his was in danger. They could have made this much more dramatic. The same goes for the attempt to kidnap Dimitri. Was able to run through all security with ease without being noticed. Then the first kidnapper who meets with him and was eventually almost caught by Cross and the corrupt cop. Those were real moments that could have been much more dramatic and exciting.

I quickly realized in the film that the female agent / secret agent was no good. I had that all the time with this movie. A secret agent really has more skills and control than her. Apart from the fact that I didn't think she was suitable for her role, this secret agent came across as very emotional and involved. They should have brought that whole emotional thing to the film later.l

I also found the first kidnapping very simplistic, again a missed opportunity and rushed too quickly in my opinion.

When I look at the story and idea, it's actually quite a good story. A kidnapper being watched by another kidnapper. The entire concept was good, just cheaply filmed. I thought the plot twist was spectacular, only at a certain point it became too much and unnecessary. And how the movie ends was also way too simple and rushed.

My overall conclusion is that this could potentially have been a classic if more detail had been taken care of, better co-actors and not too many unnecessary plot twists with a simple ending.
