"The man who was willing to pay the price for power."
America, the 1930s. During the Depression, the truck drivers' job is more dangerous and arduous than ever. They are underpaid and the state offers them little protection. All workers yearn for better working conditions and protest marches follow. One James R. Hoffa emerges as their leader. An orator and shrewd negotiator, he manages to recruit more than two million members for the Brotherhood of Teamsters union.

never heard of this movie but it seemed nice when i saw it i thought it was quite good it was a bit boring at times but the story is told funny through flashbacks

Excellent film about a trade union leader who gets involved with the mafia in order to settle certain matters. Based on the life of James Hoffa, the film certainly knows how to captivate. The whole outfit is fine. Nice camera work and also nicely edited (although it is sometimes a bit fragmentary). Jack Nicholson does a great job in the title role. A narrow 4.0 stars.
