Show Boat plot

"HEAR Glorious New Music and Songs by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II:"

Magnolia Hawks grows up on her father's showboat, the Cotton Blossom. She meets gambler Gaylord Ravenal, and when the show's star actor and actress is unable to attend that night, Magnolia and Gaylord take their places. They fall in love and get married. Life with a gambler turns out not to be a bed of roses and Magnolia will have to take the stage again.
