A bit poor.

I didn't even expect a double bill (no idea what this film was about), so I was a bit shocked when the first story broke off after half an hour.

The part about Mr Toad was the most fun, if not because of Toad himself, then because of the pleasant narrator's voice and some nice supporting characters. Especially the mole is funny, but the Badger is also entertaining.

The adaptation of Sleepy Hollow did a little less for me. Maybe because after half an hour I didn't feel like starting a completely new story, but I also found the drawing style of the second part a little less attractive. And also the division between cheesy activities and a somewhat darker ending is quite lacking.

No, in all respects rather poorly developed. Feels a bit cheap and contains little that will stick.

2.0* for the first video, 1.0* for the second.

1.5*

Another major miss from Disney.

As charmed as I was by the first story, I found the second story annoying. Although both stories simply take far too long to really fill half an hour, the story of Mr. Toad is very nice. The story is good, nice characters and also the animation style is pleasant to watch. When the first story comes to an end, it is simply difficult to get into the story of Sleepy Hollow. In addition, it also lacks a lot of the fun that Mr. Toad does have. A single nice moment between many annoying moments. The songs and music in that segment also really bothered me.

Fortunately, the last full-length compilation film from Disney. Fortunately, after this, the real Disney magic returns in Cinderella.

Not good or memorable, actually even a bit overrated because I really don't think this is better than Fun & Fancy Tree for example, which also has two shorts in one. It's not bad either, certainly in the context of its time, but for me it doesn't have much to offer. In terms of animation it is perhaps one of the least anthology shorts. And the story is also told in a rather moralizing way, something that was a bit less the case with the other anthology shorts. And then the story or the film itself is not of a good enough quality to transcend that didactic tone, as is the case with Pinocchio for example. The charm is also lacking a bit, although not completely absent. But it is clearly a side dish. Fortunately, Disney started focusing on full feature lengths again after this, because those have all become more memorable films.
