Porto da Minha Infância plot
In this documentary, Manoel de Oliveira returns to his hometown of Porto. He does this through a quest: fragments from memory, footsteps, explanations, marks, music from the time of his youth, lyrics, photos, vague photos. Life and memory have gone up in smoke. The voice of memory talks about a garage, but we see nowhere more than a shadow. History is a word to believe in. The birthplace has disappeared. The tree with hanging branches is gone.
