Successful film adaptation of the book of the same name. The story - however predictable at some points - remains fascinating, especially because of the time jumps. These are not always clear, so you have to pay close attention. Too bad that the time elements are not always implemented consistently. The same applies to the choice of music.

An autobiographical, emotional and terribly tragic love drama about two Australian boys, who were connected by their indestructible love for each other from their teenage years. The actors play their roles excellently and realistically. Oh, how tragic the lives of these boys turned out in the end..... I found the naivety with which they dealt with HIV and AIDS at that time striking. So many beautiful lives could have been saved if this had been less the case. Unfortunately, what is done cannot be undone and hopefully there will be fewer victims to mourn in the future........

Solid romantic drama about an Australian homosexual couple in the 70s. Not so blown away by the film that rushes through a fairly standard plot about how people thought about homosexuality at the time. In addition, aids is also discussed, which exhausts the drama part to the maximum. The music didn't really help.

Strange casting choice indeed, especially in the teenage or youth phase, but certainly well acted.
