Jimmy Dove works for the bomb squad in Boston, and is always the one who is always saddled with the tough jobs. One day he decides to quit his job to become a teacher in his profession. However, his successor is killed by a bomb after a few days, and Jimmy starts to suspect that this bomb might be the work of a former friend of his. He begins to investigate the matter.

Little interesting movie that lies in the aftermath of "Speed". Explosive entertainment but for an original story and high-quality dialogues you should not watch. Very predictable too. You can easily guess which bombs he will defuse and which not. Well presented, that's why it still gets half the points.

Nice explosive movie 
I always found the dismantlings exciting and original.
Although the explosion that killed his colleague was quite unrealistic, I'm no expert but I don't think you defuse a bomb by shooting at it from a distance...
Furthermore, very good acting by Jeff Bridges and Tommy Lee Jones, who for a Texan had adopted quite a nice Irish accent for the occasion.
Beautiful songs from U2 in between provided a good fitting Irish soundtrack.
You won't regret seeing Blown Away.

Mediocre film about a cop who works for the explosives disposal service and has to deal with a maniacal bomber. A rather weak story that is also not exactly believable. The scenes with the bombs are still entertaining and the explosion at the end is spectacular. The rest could have been a little shorter. A narrow 2.5 stars.
