A fine monster film with enough humor, the film does not take itself too seriously. The duo Bacon-Ward play well together, the music is lighthearted and fun, the setting in the desert surrounded by mountains is impressive. And the sandworms still look pretty good for the time, better than most CGI monsters these days.

From '90 already and to my surprise still without comment. The big reason to start him on Tuesday evening was the death of Fred Ward last week. And so I sat down with this guilty pleasure together with my father who regularly almost rolled off the couch laughing.

Simplicity and dosage seem to be the main ingredients of Tremors, which secretly is more than a guilty pleasure thanks to its successful mix. The bold yet simple duo Val and Earl, the unbelievable shithole Perfection, vague and especially hungry giant worms that react to vibrations, and the expected struggle to reach safe territory, supplemented by crazy characters such as Burt and Heather Gummer. The strongest and most fun is without a doubt the duo Earl and Val, supplemented every now and then with Rhonda, especially Bacon is very strong as a loose spirit.

Tremors succeeds mainly in its very smooth style in which no scene is too much but nothing is rushed either. The action, the humor, a bit of horror, monsters that certainly don't look bad for '90s standards...it makes Tremors an extremely fun and entertaining film, although I can't rule out that there is also a dose of youth sentiment. Anyway, as said, a nice movie for an evening of entertainment.
