José Real is a union leader who has been sentenced to life in prison in a South American country. However, the prison guards want to get rid of him and hatch a plan to kill him during a planned escape. After 10 years in prison, José is eligible for a day's leave to visit his family. The prison board sends an executioner to execute him that day.
