Saleslady plot
Mary Dakin is more than fed up with the privileged life and tells her grandfather, who became a millionaire as a mattress manufacturer, that she wants to stand on her own two feet. She leaves for Chicago and takes a job as a saleswoman in a mattress store. There she meets colleague Bob Spencer, and the two soon fall madly in love. They get married, move into a modest apartment, and buy almost everything on credit. That doesn't go well for long. Mary decides to ask her grandfather for help.
