Murphy's Law (1986)

Great movie, although I definitely burst out laughing a few times at Arabella's swearing. There were a few terms in there that wouldn't be acceptable today. Engaging, reasonably suspenseful at times, and sometimes even quite brutal. It's just a shame that the entire film took place pretty much in the dark. Otherwise, this was fine entertainment.

A decent film in which a cop is arrested for the murder of his ex-wife. Predictable and the simple plot doesn't really matter. The buddy element could have been a bit more prominent, but it's good that no romance develops from it. Still, a pretty entertaining 80s action movie with deliciously cheesy one-liners. A solid 3.0 stars.

Action thriller with a "nice" 80s vibe. One of Bronson's better films, partly due to Wilhoite's strong counter-acting. The premise is simple, yet well-executed, resulting in an entertaining yet straightforward film with some sappy erotica and a torrent of swear words. The finale is well-developed. Special note: Pay attention to the movie poster when Murphy walks into the kitchen for a sandwich without mayonnaise, and the center titles on the movie theater screen during the finale. Notable quote: "Is it true...That cop's gun subtitles their willy? ...I shouldn't count on it....Oh yeah? .. Prove it!" 2.9* and good music.
