La Divine Croisière plot

The wealthy and powerful Ferjac is an unscrupulous shipowner who tyrannizes his Breton coastal village and is both reviled and feared by the villagers. A failed assassination attempt takes place while he is meeting with a delegation of sailors who refuse to set sail in his dilapidated ship, La Cordillière. The poor but aristocratic Captain Jacques de Saint-Ermont acts as an intermediary in the conflict. However, Jacques falls in love with Ferjac's daughter Simone.
