Liesjes Hok Was Leeg plot

When farmer's son Wouter Waayer was little, his father gave him a calf to care for. This cuddly calf was named Liesje. Five months later, Liesje's pen was suddenly empty. As is the custom with veal calves in the Netherlands, it had been taken to the slaughterhouse. This moment turned Wouter's life upside down. He is now a vegan influencer and has joined Extinction Rebellion, while his father, Jan, and brother, Chiel, still run the veal farm in Geesteren. In this documentary, Wouter returns to the farm in Twente, where he receives another Liesje.
