Steal This Story, Please! plot

New York-based independent investigative journalist Amy Goodman (born 1957) has been reporting for decades from trouble spots worldwide: from East Timor, Morocco, Nigeria, and Gaza to just around the corner during 9/11 and the Iraq War. Her motto is "pick up this story" to share it with the world—a duty that seems even more urgent now that US President Donald Trump has declared the press an enemy of the people. With admirable perseverance, she is the watchdog of democracy in her own right, in the increasingly rare role of investigative journalist.
