Definitely enjoyed it!!

The Conjuring Universe has two very strong films, The Conjuring 1 & 2, and a very nice closing film, The Conjuring 4.

Unfortunately, everything that was created in between is weak to very bad.

But still, every film has managed to lure me to the cinema, so that means something.

It's a shame it's over, but they still end on a beautiful note. Not the strongest film, but definitely a TOP 3!!

Just saw this in the cinema. After the terribly boring third installment, this was back to the level of the first two.

This time, a large family in Pennsylvania is being plagued by a huge antique mirror. This mirror is indirectly connected to the Warrens, specifically their daughter Judy. Despite having stopped taking cases for several years, they still become involved in the case.

Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson once again deliver strong performances as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. There's also a connection to a previous case they thought they had closed. The film also features numerous cameos from the previous installments.

A beautiful ending and definitely recommended among fans!

Without a doubt, director Michael Chaves's best work, but he also has by far the biggest budget so far. With a whopping 55 million, the spooky action erupts in full force, providing a thoroughly enjoyable experience within a running time of 135 minutes. However, the characters are all rather overblown, and the drama takes itself so seriously that it creates a comical effect. Chaves is a horror director through and through, and that clearly shows. The result is a final project that is completely unbelievable in design, yet highly effective at its core. The Conjuring: Last Rites contains plenty of entertaining horror and maintains the tension well. It's also well-made in terms of cinematography and cleverly shot. James Wan's caliber is obviously miles ahead, but this project nevertheless stands on its own merits. A somewhat unfocused and unstable atmosphere (this is truly a film for the masses, less an exhibition of individual quality) prevents a higher rating.
