A good film about a detective in a special police department. As far as I'm concerned, a great reboot. The jokes are dense, and while there are certainly some lame ones, there's plenty to laugh at (including quite a few funny lines that get lost in translation). The casting of Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson is also a good one, and the film certainly doesn't run too long.

The trailers weren't particularly funny, but thankfully they mostly feature footage from the first five to ten minutes of the film. What I was worried about after seeing the trailer was that the humor wouldn't hit the mark and would be different from the original films and series. Fortunately, that's clear from the very first second, with a barrage of jokes fired at you that are extremely dry and stupid. Love it. Of course, some jokes land better than others, but the constant stream of puns, as well as visual gags (e.g., cold cases ), keeps you entertained. Plenty of running gags, and a Liam Neeson who brilliantly pokes fun at himself proves to be a worthy successor to Nielsen. In that respect, it's comparable. From a serious actor to this...

By the third act, you're pretty much done with the film and feel worn down by all the jokes.

Simply a beautiful tribute and new installment in the Police Squad/Naked Gun franchise, and only recommended if you enjoy classic spoof humor. It does require a dry wit, though.

Surprisingly enjoyable. After the trailer, I was really worried this would be a disaster, and yes, that first scene simply doesn't work. I already explained why above. Only in the sense that the film starts off as a thriller and throws you off-guard does that scene work, but hey, you know pretty well what kind of movie you're going to see, so there's really no surprise there.

But otherwise the same old familiar humor and sometimes hints at old movies (OJ Simpson, the end credits, a stuffed beaver on screen). Full of really lame jokes, puns, that thing with coffee, something with sex and night vision goggles, people bumping into everything, all sorts of things happening in the back of the screen etc etc. Not every joke works but the film is so packed that there is plenty of fun to be had. Although the humor is often strong enough for a weak smile but not for a real roar of laughter. Maybe Neeson simply isn't the right actor for that like Leslie Nielsen was.

Not as good as Airplane! or the first Naked Gun movie, where I laughed out loud more often, but what makes this film slightly better than parts 2 and 3 is the look. Better cameras in 2025, and LA looks beautiful at times. And Neeson's voice fits well with the film noir that the film also tries to emulate (just like film 2, at least); Neeson is even better than Leslie Nielsen there. 3.5*

The newest adventures of "The Police Squad" start with pure mayhem. There is no lack of absurdity, in any way, shape, or form. The silliness is already off the chart,

*Spoiler* "On second thought, I think I will take that chair." *Spoiler*

Liam Neeson is in rare form and doing Neilson right with his portrayal of a Police Squad officer, and Pamela Anderson is simply a joy to see in such a silly role again.

An excellent addition to the "Naked Gun" family of film orgasms for us all to enjoy, without any gaudy or pointless nudity to ruin our laugh-a-thon.
