Made in Ethiopia plot

In the middle of Ethiopia stands an immense Chinese business park with 20,000 Ethiopian employees. Chinese businesswoman Motto faces major challenges when the park wants to expand even more. In the meantime, many Ethiopians - just like their country - are at a crossroads: choose industrialization or not?

It's an open secret that gynecologist Nina [Ia Sukhitashvili] works outside the hospital to help women terminate their pregnancies. When a woman dies after giving birth, the head doctor [Merab Ninidze] appoints David [Kakha Kintsurashvili] to investigate Nina's negligence. Meanwhile, Nina continues her work, both in and out of the hospital, while adhering to the demands of a patriarchal society on her and the women she treats. The film features invasive procedures filmed in intermittent shots, often so excruciatingly long that you could easily do the dishes or walk the dog without missing a thing. And you might find yourself watching the exact same scene when you return! Kulumbegashvili gives new meaning to slow.
