I still liked it quite a bit. As a romantic duo, Willis & Basinger are nothing: that ending was so obvious , luckily I still had a decent sense of humor. Certainly the whole thing around the judge's house with his dog Rambo . Also a drunk Basinger who embarrasses a fancy restaurant was a good mise en scene. Bruce Willis was only 30 when he starred in this comedy, but his performance did not go unnoticed.

Still a low average. Are people seriously expecting something different when the synopsis of this movie comes along? Willis in his pre Die Hard era is very touching. There is a lot of corny humor in the film and the highlight is the whole thing in the mansion when Willis tries to get his character to Basinger's character. I had to laugh several times at the stupidity of the film. It might have been a little more over the top for me than it was now. Even more? Yes, even more. Sometimes the film is just a bit too serious for me and the ending is very feel good.

Not a masterpiece, but it brings exactly what you can expect from a film like this.

We know Bruce Willis mainly as an 'action hero'. Maybe that's why he pleasantly surprised me with his role in this Blind Date. The movie reminded me of some similar hysterical comedies from the 80s. Think of The Money Pit for example. As stated somewhere above: you have to be in the mood for that. Blind Date is also very corny at times, but I really needed that when I watched it.

It's a shame that the film reaches its peak early: the dinner with Walter's colleagues and boss is really hilarious. After that, the film seems to end up in a dip, but luckily it picks up again not much later. Especially that idiotic ex of Nadia, played by John Larroquette, is so bland that he becomes fun again. Kim Basinger is also doing great, although I have to say that I kept the chemistry between her and Willis a bit superficial. In fact, the whole film remains superficial, because the climax is a bit lukewarm and rushed imo. Nevertheless, I was not bored in between. The many absurd situations and the relatively high joke density make this a very pleasant snack.

3*
