A mediocre film in which a program from the digital world ends up in the real world. A rather thin story, with this third installment offering nothing new. Visually, it's also not particularly unique anymore (which was the case with the previous two installments). Plenty of action and well-matched, bombastic music by Nine Inch Nails.

The audiovisuals are really great (although I do miss a good soundtrack; the one during the credits was awful) and a good sequel to Legacy. Daft Punk did a much better job with the score, though. But the story is truly mediocre. A Terminator rip-off, and aside from a cameo, this feels more like a high-budget, straight-to-streaming sequel because you start with a new plot. So, that didn't do much for me. The theaters are surprisingly empty everywhere. This is definitely going to be the biggest box office bomb of the year.

Visually stunning, the pumping soundtrack (a strange mix of ambient and loud music, but very cool and fitting) and the sound design make this a cinematic experience worth remembering. However, the content is rather empty, with a very simple story and characters that didn't really appeal to me. This makes the film drag a bit at times, though it's never boring. But the film doesn't leave a lasting impression; it's really the visuals and sound in the theater that make the difference. The action is also well-shot. It's clear and well-paced, without being overdone. The overload comes from the loud sound and music, not the visuals, which prevents it from being a tiring experience. 3.0*
