Marcene Elliot is a naive young woman who, while walking through the forests of Canada, meets Darrell Thorne, a composer looking for inspiration for a symphony. They fall in love and Darrell names a symphony after her. He asks Marcene to travel with him to New York, but she is afraid her Aunt Zabie will be angry. Because Marcene later gives birth to a daughter, she is disowned by her aunt. The necessary complications follow.
