In Hong Kong, two Filipino immigrants are destined to change each other's lives forever. Joy is a feisty, poor graduate nurse who works as a domestic worker in Hong Kong. Although she excels at her job and enjoys the friendship of other domestic workers, she plans to leave town soon. Hong Kong is just a stopover. Determined to live a better life, far from her deprived childhood, Joy wants to succeed in Canada. During her stay in Hong Kong, Joy meets bartender Ethan.
