Nick, along with his friends Will, Marquis and Corey, are stranded at sea after their fishing boat capsizes more than sixty miles outside the Gulf of Mexico. A heavy storm comes their way and violently throws the four into the icy water. The US Coast Guard's air and sea rescue mission is thwarted by the violent storm. Nick and his friends will have to work together to survive.

A decent drama. The true story is too limited to hold two hours of interest. The execution is therefore inconsistent. The structure is good, and once at sea, it becomes quite suspenseful. But as mentioned, the film drags on considerably, leading to a bit of boredom. This also lowers the film's emotional impact. Towards the end, the film does manage to touch the viewer somewhat. The acting is decent but could be better. Visually quite strong, and the clever camerawork almost makes the viewer feel like they're at sea. 3.0

I watched this movie today, and on Blu-ray at that!
It started with some stories (nonsense) about the main characters who eventually decide to go on a boat trip, 4 friends at sea, but then disaster strikes when an anchor gets stuck on the seabed and they capsize.
A massive storm with heavy rain and thunderstorms also follows, some sharks also appear halfway through the film, but absolutely nothing is done with them the film relies more on drama than action.
Still, there are some action moments and the tension is palpable, because who survives and who doesn't? I didn't see everything coming, and sometimes it was a surprise who survived, or perhaps no one at all...
It is also beautiful to see how the coast guard makes a rescue plan and from the air, and you see the families of the friends losing hope.
There are also many quiet moments, sometimes a bit boring, and you sit waiting for the climax when the film is almost over, and then you still expect something...
So the ending was reasonably well done, although she did rush it a bit at the end; I would have liked to see more of this.
All in all, nice to have seen it once, but nowhere near as spectacular as, for example, the film "The Perfect Storm" Attention Required! | Cloudflare ; this one is very similar to it, but that one is much more intense!
